The following are answers to some frequently asked questions, I hope you find these helpful.

 

Q. What kinds of issues can Possibilities help me with?

Possibilities can help with emotional, behavioural and relationship difficulties associated with everyday life, such as when you may feel stressed, anxious and are experiencing problems coping. We help people who are experiencing a variety of life's challenges, such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Low mood and depression
  • Panic
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Anger and aggressive behaviours
  • Adjusting to changes
  • Relationships problems

 

Q. How can I access Possibilities services?

Q. What happens when I refer myself?

When you call, we will take some details such as your name, contact information, what you would like to address and provide you with an initial consultation appointment with one of our psychotherapists. If no-one is available to speak to you when you call, please leave a voice message with you name and telephone number and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If you email, we can usually reply within a few hours or at least by the next day.

 

Q. Can I be seen by the same psychotherapist I saw previously?

If you've previously attended Possibilities and would like to be seen again by the same psychotherapist, please let us know. If the psychotherapist is available , we will try to arrange this for you when possible.

 

Q. Where will I be seen for my appointment?

The venue for all appointments is usually at Possibilities Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, 31 Jopp's Lane, Aberdeen AB25 1BX. We do not offer home visits. Please note that during the COVID-19 pandemic, all appointments are online via Skype.

 

Q. Does my GP need to refer me?

As you can self-refer, there is no need for your GP to refer you.
